The effect of the presence of green space in a residential complex

The existing limitation in big cities has led to the expansion of the construction of residential complexes and the reduction of the share of private yards in contemporary architecture. In addition to providing light and illumination of indoor spaces and natural ventilation, residential open space is an opportunity for more communication with nature and a place for social interactions. Considering the limitation of the interior space of the residential unit and the traditional history of the presence of the yard in Iranian life, the open space is an opportunity to expand the function of the interior space and its relationship with the exterior space.Therefore, reviewing and understanding the current situation of open space is the basis for a more conscious design of residential open spaces in the future. One of the important and effective meanings in the relationship between man and the environment, which has been the attention of designers, is the sense of belonging. A sense of belonging is one of the criteria for evaluating quality environments. The research method in this research is descriptive, analytical and based on library studies. The results of the research show that the presence of green spaces in residential complexes is effective in creating a sense of belonging to the place and increasing the level of residents' satisfaction.
