Interior architecture affecting mental health in the interior design of a residential house

With the development of human societies and changes in the way of living and living of people, the attention of architects, designers and planners to the quality of built spaces and environments has increased, for this reason designing spaces as a tool to shape the living environment and respond to expectations and needs Humans have become more important, that's why many researches have been done about the mutual influence of the environment or built space on human mentalities and behaviors.The purpose of this research is to achieve the prioritization of internal architectural indicators that are effective on mental health in the design of residential houses. In this article, a Likert-scale questionnaire was distributed among architects and interior architects using a quantitative survey method, and residential house design indicators were surveyed, then the most important design indicators were identified using SPSS software. As a result, the extracted data showed that the most important indicators of interior architecture affecting mental health are the use of plants in indoor spaces, control of noise pollution, proper air ventilation and control of the ambient temperature in the comfort zone and the effects of color on the human psyche. Among other things that affect mental health is the presence of private spaces suitable for both individual privacy and collective privacy for family members.
